Welcome to Africa Day Celebration 2025
Celebrating Africa: Unity in Diversity
Now in its third year, the Africa Day Celebration has become one of the most vibrant showcases of African heritage, culture, business, and community in the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia area.
Join us on Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM at

Our Passion
Africa Day commemorates the founding of the Organization of African Unity (now the African Union) on May 25, 1963. It is a day to reflect on the progress of the continent, celebrate the richness of our cultures, and strengthen the bonds between African nations and the global community.
The Africa Day Celebration in Maryland, organized by African Heritage and Unity Network (AHUN) and partners, brings together communities, embassies, businesses, youth, elders, creatives, and allies to:
Celebrate cultural pride and unity
Promote African-owned businesses and entrepreneurs
Connect African diaspora communities
Showcase traditional music, dance, food, and fashion
Inspire through leadership, innovation, and service
